Weekend plans

Well, since I’m about to leave the office late (having gotten one Big Deliverable out, and been frustrated in getting the other out by Folks Who Can’t Get Their Answers Straight and People Who Can’t Use The Brains God Gave Them), this will likely be it, blogwise, until Sunday.

Tonight is “dark,” in that, for the first time since we got here, there are no known plans to do stuff. Hrm.

Tomorrow we run around like crazy doing all sorts of errands, which may include a visit to an upholstery supply store or two to get new fabric for couch and chairs back home. Maybe.

Tomorrow night is the wrap party for the June campout — everyone gets back together, eats left-overs, drinks, and has a nice relaxed time. It’s been several years (duh) since we’ve done this, so it will be fun.

Then Sunday, up at the crack of dawn to catch a 6:45a (!) from LAX (!!) to Denver. The only plus to this is that we get in around 10, which means we have the whole day to recover from our vacation …

It’s been a fun, even productive time out here. Being outside my home office has been sort of enjoyable, and I’ve really gotten a lot of things done (and laid the groundwork for other things to get done, too). It will be nice to sleep in our own beds, shower in our own showers, and get back into the comfortable patterns — and, yes, to see our friends back home. But it’s been far less stressful of a vacation than family visits often are, perhaps because I’ve been working during the week.

Anyhow, happy couple-of-days, and I’ll see you Sunday.

  1. My father, who like to travel, has often been heard to say that “we travel to remind ourselves why we usually live in our own homes.” Not that we who were visited mind having guests as often as possible!
