Comfort

It’s This-or-That Tuesday, this week … actually done on Tuesday!…

It’s This-or-That Tuesday, this week … actually done on Tuesday!

Which is more comforting for you…

1. Lying down on the couch, or stretching out on a recliner? Never much been into recliners. I prefer the greater versatility of relaxing positions on a sofa.

2. Going barefoot or wearing soft slippers? My feet get too hot in slippers. Barefoot, definitely.

3. Eating ice cream, or pizza? As a comfort? Usually ice cream. Or maybe pizza for the entree, with ice cream as dessert. Yeah, that sounds good.

4. Watching on TV…a classic movie or a reality show? Definitely a classic, especially if it’s one I’ve seen before. Reality shows irritate me.

5. Wearing: blue jeans or sweat pants? Jeans, usually, since I won’t go out in sweats. On the other hand, if I’m sick at home, I’ll just slip on some sweats and that’s just fine.

6. A long, soothing bubble bath or a quick, invigorating shower? How about a long, soothing shower?

7. Furniture: leather, or something more on the fuzzy side? Fuzzy is good. Leather is too much upkeep.

8. Soft, classical music, or upbeat rock & roll? Soft, classical music can be very comforting. It calls to mind drifting to sleep while my folks were playing chamber music.

9. Darkness or light? Light doesn’t bother me.

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You get married, or otherwise begin cohabitating with a significant other. S/he moves into your place, but brings with them the UGLIEST chair you have ever seen! You really don’t want this thing in your home, but SO says it is the most comfy chair s/he has ever sat in, and no way will they part with it. Do you: grin and bear it, or scheme to get rid of the montrosity somehow? I’m very much into function over form when it comes to furniture, so I definitely can appreciate wanting an incredibly comfy chair (I remember being traumatized when my folks got rid of the charcoal couch when we lived in the duplex — but I digress). So … what about a slip cover? Or even re-upholstering the beast.

Which reminds me … we have some re-upholstering to do ourselves …
