My first impression is that 6A is still setting the price point a bit high, but things are looking a tad more palatable than before — enough, probably, that I’ve shifted from provisionally departing the MT fold to provisionally sticking around.

I still need to check things out in detail, and won’t be shifting to MT3 any time soon (probably at least until the “General Edition” appears), but the consideration of what it will take to convert has been weighing on me, and is a major role in the concern. (And that’s both in terms of ability to convert the data itself, and in having the old URLs that folks have linked to still be accurate). To avoid going through that hassle, I might well be willing to put up with a less-than-ideal pricing structure.

  1. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do and word that Beta testers will be offered a discount hasn’t helped my indecision. Though I will say this much, WordPress’s ability to import MT entries is damned impressive. I tried it on a backup of my sister’s blog and it went smooth as silk with none of the issues I had importing SEB into EE.

    Hmmmm….

  2. I’m pleased to hear about the import ease with WordPress (which sounds like a good product). I suspect that my innate sloth will keep me from making any sort of decision at least until the MT3 General Release is, um, released generally.
