Alas, after a number of years wherein Uncle Sam paid us back some of our money at the end of the tax year, it looks like this year we’ll be returning the favor (along with a check), of a not-insubstantial amount.
Rats.
Biggest difference seems to be from the re-fi we did last year. That saved us a quite a bit of money in interest payments — which are, of course, deductible.
Rats.
The final tally is not in (have to get an EIN from Katherine’s pre-school), but it’s not going to be pretty this year.
On the bright side, it turns out, Uncle Bill owes us a little over half of what we owe to Uncle Sam, so the bite isn’t quite as nasty.
