The not-as-bad-as-I’d-feared news first? Or the good news first?
Let’s start with the not-as-bad-as-I’d-feared news. I’ve not been terribly diligent on the Geek Diet, and, what with chocolate eggs and the like still swarming about the house, I was a tad worried as I approached the scale this morning.
201.
Disappointing to be back up over the mark, but not as bad as it could have been. Partial restraint, I guess, pays off.
On the up side, I took in last week some dry cleaning that had been accumulating for … well, a while. A loooong while. Some years, in fact.
One item in the stack was one of my suits, which happens to be my going-away suit from my wedding, which, you’ll recall, was a decade ago.
It fits. I am, stature-wise, approximately where I was a decade ago. Which is probably better than most folks (and certainly better than I was a year ago).
For the record, another suit I still have, from, um, the previous getaway occasion, two decades ago, does not fit. Which, I suppose, is ironically appropriate. It’s labelled a 34 waist, and, yeah, I’m not there.
Yet.
