Grinding it out

To the Bismark’s old saw about how one should never watch laws or sausages being made, I would add that knowing how payroll works at a large company — especially an interstate one with multiple clients, and various flavors of union and non-union and professional service labor — is probably a good thing, too. It’s a miracle any of us get paid (and I will look at my paycheck entry with new respect this week).

That said, my newfound knowledge will be very handy, and we’re well on our way with the projects I was out here to help kick off.
