“It’s the Gospel, stupid!”

OneNewsNow is infamously conservative — so when I saw a pointer to an article there about the Lutherans (ELCA) opening up to homosexuality in their church, and a poll about “Why do some denominations do this?”, I just had to check it out.

This, ladies and germs, is the poll:

Why do you think some denominations choose to accommodate the sin of homosexuality? (related article)

1. Denominational leaders no longer fear God
2. Those leaders are choosing to believe a lie
3. They want to appear to be more modern and inclusive
4. Tolerance of sin has become the new theology

I mean, the number of assumptions and presumptions here is almost breath-taking. Either folks are being sinfully defiant of God, they are willingly being duped, they are trying to be trendy and shallow, or they just plain old like sin. And, of course, it’s the leaders at fault, not the probably-innocent, just-poorly-led Lutherans.

Though perhaps the option choices are cunning — no chance that unwanted Internet-goers will come here and skew the results to some namby-pamby godless liberal choice.
