The idea that it’s not just enough to claim that one “loves God” but that one also must love (and demonstrate it in very concrete ways) one’s neighbor is what distinguishes what I would consider “true” Christianity from the demagoguery, law-loving, and cliquishness that distinguishes so many self-labeled Christians.

- Al Franken draws map of the US – That is very nicely done. This is apparently a trick that Franken learned a long time ago. I find it interesting that he does it state-by-state, rather than starting with an outline and filling in the detail. I don’t know that I’d require every Congresscritter to be able to do this, but I’d love to make them prove they know where the other states are on a map.

Frankly I’d like them to at least be able to identify, roughly, where their state is on a blank geographic map of the US. I think it might be enlightening . . .
