Their description of their annual costs is interesting (I suspect a less ambitious agenda would be somewhat but not substantially less). That the customer base interest (11k pledged so far) has gotten some other companies interested in the matter is a more welcome sign.

Of course, most leaders in the polls are reluctant to debate (even if they didn’t have a disastrous initial outing); after all, how can a debate actually help them if they’re already winning. That said, it’s a shame, because I think debates can be a valuable tool for the body politic.

- City Market vendor could lose lease for turning away gays | IndyStar.com | The Indianapolis Star – I’d suggest that the lease requirements at the City Market need to be looked at very carefully to see iif there’s an actual legal case of discrimination. I have no problem heaping as much social opprobrium on the cookie shop as people want to, but unless unless there are actual laws or contract clauses being broken, booting these folks (even if it’s not renewing their month-to-month lease) is dodgy as both law and public policy.

I didn’t know the name Stephen J. Cannell until I watched all the episodes of The Rockford Files a while back. Having done so, I was saddened to hear that he is gone now. He made some fun TV!
