I have every expectation that Disney will do a decent job with the franchise. It might even (as we've seen with Marvel) do very well. Yes, there could be creative disasters but … well, we've already had those when Lucas was independent, too, and I doubt Disney will do worse.

Actually, I doubt Whedon would do it. The point is that there's precedent for Disney doing something squeeful with an acquired asset, including hiring top talent, and no reason to think that they won't with Star Wars.
I just think it's been messed with enough. Just leave it alone.
Or, since Star Wars is for kids, we get more Ewoks and JarJar.
I suspect we will get more Ewoks, in some form. Jar-Jar, despite his odd resemblance to Goofy, I suspect not.
But I think what we will get will be more stuff. The movies, for one thing, but also other media items. Some will be mediocre. Some any given person may not like. But I suspect some will be pretty darned keen.
