Team #Trump blames the victim by saying that #Zelenskyy somehow forced #Trump and #Vance to attack him on camera by pressing for security commitments (as he has all along) as part of a #Ukraine minerals deal, after they told him not to. Also, he didn't properly "praise Trump" as instructed, and insisted on mentioning #Russian aggression.

If Zelenskyy made any error, it is in believing that security guarantees from this US administration would actually mean anything.

Trump and Vance's failed attempt to humiliate, cow, retaliate against, and otherwise attack the president of an allied country, in front of White House cameras, was despicable, shameful, and #evil.

It's also put the world on notice that if you don't kow-tow to Trump on everything, always, he will take personal, petty revenge, regardless of what it does to peace, safety, or human lives.

Question: if the President of the United States can simply dictate that "there are only two sexes," what other "truths" can he establish by fiat and up-end the law and lives over. "Only heterosexual marriage is real"? "There is only one True Religion"? "Whites are the superior race"? "Only men can have jobs outside the home"? "We have always been at war with Eastasia"?

Of course. That's the intent. Acknowledging such people exist, let alone that they face discrimination and other issues, makes conservatives feel uncomfortable and defensive. Easier to just get the books banned.

So our Dear Leader #Trump has declared that (a) he's perfectly happy to unilaterally impose a #Putin -pleasing "peace" on #Ukraine because (b) they shouldn't have "started the war" and (c) should have ended the war much sooner and (d) btw Ukraine should be required to hold elections to vote #Zelensky out.

As always, the question is whether the man is deluded, manipulated, or just an asshole. Also, how America will ever hold its head up again.
