Moving into a new office, I’ve been sensitive over my daytime browsing. While the corporate firewall was fairly tolerant, the one that the Golden office had in place was a lot more restrictive, and I didn’t know the sitch in the Denver office.
So yesterday played very and only checked some email and did a bit of Google Reader. Saved up some posting for when I got home.
Ah. Thereby hangs a problem. Firefox, of course, keeps multiple tabs up. And when you shut it down and start it back up, it will remember what you last had loaded and reload it for you. I had this problem crop up a month or so back when the local IT manager politely informed me that I’d been hitting YouTube (which they were blocking) pretty heavily. I blamed it (rightfully) on tabs I’d had opened at home.
So, thus, the message in my browser this morning, signing in, from Websense (an Internet filter system), noting I was not allowed to load Les‘ page, and that Websense would be blocking it “at all times.”
Crime? “Tasteless.”
I’ll have to save my SEBbing for after hours, it seems.
It’s a fair cop. I’ve never claimed to have any taste.
To some degree Les has to be proud of this. It means his site has reached a certain status…
Please tell me my site is banned too. If not I’ll have to do something tasteless. The floor is open to suggestions.
(Be careful. I have two friends who were fired from two different corporations for accessing non-work-related sites on the job. Of course this is only a crime in corporatia because they have not yet figured out how to discipline employees for thinking non-work-related thoughts.)
And oddly enough Websense never blocks Les for me, so I get all the Bastard I need. ;P
