My image of the Statue of Liberty, from various media growing up, was of this mammoth statue as tall as … well, as the actual statue plus its based, and then some. I was actually disappointed when I finally saw it, at a distance, in person.
But seeing a picture like this, I can see why it would have made a large impression on immigrants arriving in New York ….

For Cloverfield, they had to scale up the Statue of Liberty head, because when they did it at actual scale people thought it looked unrealistic.
What about the elephant?
