Hoody-hoo!

2013-03 – Scotland
In March, Dave had a chance to travel to Glasgow on business. He also was there long enough to get a little extra touring and photography time in — on the first afternoon, walking around town and to museums … during the walks in the week to and from the office and around at lunch … and on a Friday excursion to Edinburgh

Over Libya's Coast – 24 photos – http://theatln.tc/17zahJQ – Recently, aerial photographer Jason Hawkes was on an assignment in Libya, He flew along the Mediterranean coastline, photographing Tripoli and several ancient Roman sites from above, including Sabratha and Leptis Magna. The result is a collection of images of Libya rather unlike most recent photos from the region, showing a continuity of more than 2,000 years of human habitation along the coast of North Africa. Jason was once again kind enough to share some of his images with us here.

Today, hot off of buying Tumblr, Yahoo rolled out a revised Flickr layout. No real functionality change, I don't think but it looks … well … more contemporary, I guess. Text plays a much smaller role (indeed, I'm not quite sure how to pull up the text in some of my sets). Maps seem to play less of a role, too, which is odd. Finally, it appears the album collections layer has vanished, which would be really irksome if true.
I'll need to poke at it later. I think it's nice that Yahoo is doing something with the site, but I'm not sure what they're doing is what I want done.

Flickr Gets A Makeover — It’s Been Supersized And Instagrammed
It wasn’t that long ago that Yahoo stood accused of letting Flickr decay beyond repair.
Today, under the guidance of new CEO Marissa Mayer, the company has given the oft maligned image-sharing community a major facelift. Yahoo’s announcement promises a Flickr that’s “more spectacular, much bigger, and one you can take anywhere.”
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the grid. Here’s what’s new on your Flickr account:

Kay is going as a winged … cat … dragon … black … tail … creature …
Plus, she's going out solo. As in "without parents wandering behind". But with three of her middle school buds.
They grow up so fast …

As I posted something about #NaNoWriMo, I realized its official coat of arms is topped with a Viking helm. Just like I wore to the office today as a "costume".
So here's to you, NaNos! May the fortitude of Thor, the vision of Odin, and the clever glibness of Loki be with you for the next month!
